An insightful introduction to your new neighborhood

Neighbor in the Know is a personalized service helping potential residents select the right Northside neighborhood for them and helping new residents navigate all that comes with living in Lincoln Square, Ravenswood, Andersonville, and Uptown.

Are you re-locating? Are you still searching for the right place to call home? Or have you already moved to these neighborhoods? Do you want to learn more about your community?

My name is Michelle and I started Neighbor in the Know to provide my new (and potential) neighbors with information that will make the transition to a new neighborhood simple and smooth. Chicago’s neighborhoods have a vibe all their own. I’m here to share my knowledge and offer you personalized recommendations for restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options as well as information on civic engagement, local organizations, and the walkability of these neighborhoods.

Lincoln Square. Ravenswood. Andersonville. Uptown. These are my specialties and I want to help you discover the unique character of each one.

It can be hard to find all of the information you need when you make the move to a new neighborhood. Where can I park? Will using CTA or Metra shorten my commute? Which bars and restaurants can I walk to? What ward do I live in and who is my alderman? Where can I learn about fun (and affordable) activities for my kids? Where do I vote? I’m here to answer all your questions.

Become an informed and engaged part of your new community…or discover something new about the place you call home!

Michelle was instrumental in helping me feel settled when I moved to Chicago from rural Mississippi. She introduced me to my favorite grocery store, Edgewater Produce; told me what a CAPS meeting was and why I should care; and shared the magic of the free summer concert series at Millennium Park. Whenever I need a recommendation or advice, she is my go-to person. She is a wealth of knowledge about city living.
